Rescues & Adoptions
Each of our Rescued Bostons are special to us and each one takes a little piece of our hearts with them to their forever homes. When kind people like these offer a Boston a loving, nurturing home it is very exciting and rewarding. These happy endings should be shared and celebrated! This page is a tribute to the Bostons who have come to MBTR and the wonderful people who made a "happy ending" possible for them. Sometimes as overworked volunteers, we forget our cameras but we'd love to have photos of all our adoptees and their new families. If you have a photo you'd like added to the Happy Tails page, please e-mail it to us and we'll be happy to add it!

Juliet was being kept outside on a chain. She was not feed and hardly
watered. After numerous complaints from neighbors, Animal Control
took Juliet from her owners and took her to a shelter in Hattiesburg,
MS. Juliet was painfully thin and severely underweight. She also tested
positive for heartworms. The shelter asked if we could take Juliet. And
how could we say "no" to a face like that?
Juliet thrived in the loving care of her foster mom. She gained weight
and successfully completed her heartworm treatments. She found her
forever home in Clinton, MS with a couple who are long time Boston
owners and know just how to spoil a little Boston. Our vet always
thought she had the cutest face....and she does! Cutie stay in touch and
remind mom & dad to send some photos every once in a while!

Baschi, along with his brother Bruce, came to MBTR when their owner
abandoned them, along with her three human children, with her mother. Of
course grandma had a handful taking care of the human kids and asked one of
our fosters if MBTR could take these guys and find them a new home. And we
were happy to help Baschi (left) and Bruce (further below).
Baschi (now Barney) will be living in the same home with his buddy, Juliet and
new Boston sister, Tina. Tina is 13 years old so we are sure big sister will
teach the new kids all the rules of the house. Be good boys and listen to Mom,
Dad, and your new big sister.
The three amigos, Bruce, Barney, & Juliet, in their new home. That's a good looking pack of Bostons!

This adorable little girl was found as a stray chasing a farmer's goats in
Vicksburg, MS. She was turned into the shelter there who in turn
called us because Gemma was not tolerating shelter life very well. She
was vaccinated and spayed and with a face like that, she quickly found
her forever home in New Orleans, LA.
The kind couple who adopted her had really done their homework and
researched the breed. We know they will make wonderful Boston
parents. Puppies a lot of work but oh, so much fun so hang in there
guys and we know you'll do just fine. Congratulations Gemma on
finding a wonderful home. Let us hear from you from time to time.

Buster was surrendered to a shelter in North MS by his owner who had to move and could not take Buster with him.
Buster caught a flight with Pilots N Paws (you can see his flight photos on our "PNP Page"), and came to south MS to
MBTR. Buster soon showed us what a wonderful little guy he was. He is just about the most perfect little Bostonian
gentleman you could hope to meet. He gets along with other dogs, people, and even cats. His foster family grew to
love him more and more until they decided that Buster just had to be part of their family and they officially adopted
him. Told you guys he was a charmer! His human family includes children to help spoil him and he enjoys regular
visits to the spa. His foster mom says he loves getting a message. He is pictured above with his new sister Bit Bit and
will also have another doggie sister named Maggie. His new family says that he loves their other dogs and they love
him and couldn't bear to let him go. Congratulations Buster! We're glad you are now a permanent part of the MBTR
family and will now help foster new Bostons who are also looking for a happy home!

Our adorable little Beanie Weenie has moved to
his forever home in Mobile, AL! Beanie was
"adopted" by a woman who found him as a stray.
She kept him less than 24 hours before she took
him to a vet's office and asked for him to be
euthanized because he had an accident on her
floor!!! The vet could see what a cute little guy
this was and that he was vibrant and full of life,
and an accident on the floor should not result in a
death sentence. He called MBTR and asked if we
would take Beanie so that his life could be
spared. We did and he went to his foster home in
Pensacola, FL where he was quickly spoiled by his
foster mom. Then came his new family from
Mobile, AL and took Beanie back with them to
his forever home! Beanie's new family are long
time Boston owners and we know that they'll
know just how to make this little guy feel right at
home and will make sure that never again will he
have to worry about receiving lethal injection for
such a silly, minor infraction.
We're so happy for you Beanie and we wish you a
happy life with your loving forever family!

Miss Biscuit has been adopted and has moved to her new home in
Forest, MS. Biscuit was an owner surrender who came from
Pensacola, FL. Like most little beach beauties, Biscuit is a bit of a
princess. Biscuit likes for everything to be all about Biscuit. Now
she has a family to spoil and pamper her. Her dad even offered to
help us with transports if needed so we're sure we'll be seeing Miss
Biscuit around. Take care of your pretty little self Biscuit and and
we wish you a long and happy life with your forever family!
Reggie is now calling LA his home! He has found a wonderful
family to share the rest of his life with. Not only does he now
have two new pet parents, but he also has an older Boston
brother who can help show him the ropes around his new home.
Best wishes to you little guy. You have such a funny little
personality and you deserve only the best...and we think you've
found it!

Lucky Miss Holly with the pretty blue eye has found her forever home with
a long time Boston owner/admirer who is also one of our very generous
supporters. Holly has moved in and made herself right at home but we do
understand the little princess likes to sleep late in the mornings and doesn't
care to go outside if it's wet or cold. She now sports a snuggly sweater for
her winter potty breaks! Her new mom also uses the same vet as MBTR
and we are pleased that Holly will continue to see him. Everyone at the
vet's office raved about Holly's new owner and what a lucky little Boston to
have such a wonderful new mom. We couldn't agree more! Hope you have
a long, pampered life little Holly. No more wondering the streets alone in
the snow! You are now safe, warm, and LOVED!
Cute little Dixie has moved to her forever home in
Biloxi, MS. She was actually adopted by the
parents of the lady who adopted Beanie Weenie
earlier this year. They are long time Boston lovers
and are experienced at Boston spoiling and
pampering. Beanie's grandparents have already
babysat him and we are sure that cousin Dixie will
also be staying with Beanie from time to time. All
the pups are sure to have play many dates and
sleep overs since they live very close to each
other on the Gulf Coast. A very special thanks to
this wonderful family for providing a loving home
to these two beautiful Bostons. We hope you all
enjoy many years of love and happiness together!
Sammie is now a LA girl! She has moved to her new home and is
learning all she needs to know about being a loved family member
rather than a neglected, bullied, skinny pup in a breeding facility.
Little Sammie was dumped in the West Memphis Animal Shelter, along
with 6 other Bostons, by a breeder who was having trouble selling her
dogs in a lagging economy. MBTR was called and we sat about getting
all the dogs vetted, spayed/neutered, dewormed, and fattened up.
Sammie had a few "issues" from living her life as an unsocialized,
uncared for pup who had learned to fend for herself amongst many
larger dogs in a puppy mill type environment. Many dogs who come
from unscrupulous breeding operations, unfortunately, do come to us
with some "baggage". But luckily for Sammie, a wonderful, patient
family wanted to take her home and give her a chance. These folks
have proved to be some of the most dedicated pet parents we've
ever known and we could not have hand picked a better home for
Sammie. Her reconditioning and teaching has taken time and
sometimes it has come slow. But with the help of a family that refused
to give up on her, Sammie has made much progress and is no doubt
one lucky pup to have not only found her way out of a mass breeding
operation, but also landed in the arms of a family that doesn't know the
word "quit". If all pet owners were this dedicated and loyal to their
animals, there would be no need for rescues and shelters! Enjoy life
Sammie! We will never forget that special little smile of yours.
Now won't this picture make your heart melt like grilled
cheese on a hot griddle?! Bruce, along with his brother
Baschi, was surrendered to one of our FL foster parents
by a lady who found it impossible to care for them. It
seems that the two pups belonged to the lady's daughter
who had unceremoniously dumped both the Boston
brothers, along with her own three small children, with
grandma and skipped town with a new boyfriend. Of
course grandma had more than enough to juggle with
three small children to care for now but still, she cared
for the boys and didn't want them to end up at a shelter.
So she asked MBTR to take them and find them
appropriate homes and we were happy to help. Young
Bruce, having been in a home with small children since
he was a pup, just seemed to be a natural when it came
to kids. So he seemed like the perfect fit when a kind
family with three young boys applied to adopt a Boston.
Bruce immediately took to his new family and happily
trotted off without hardly giving us a second glance back
and we knew for sure that Bruce was going to the home
he was meant to be in. His dad tells us that he plays
great with his 3 human 'brothers' and that Bruce sleeps
on a doggie bed by his own bed every night. This happy
ending reminds us of the
