vaccinations, micro-chipped and treated for heartworms and begun a monthly
preventative at time of adoption.  Does have "dry eye" in Right eye and needs daily
drops or over the counter artifical tears.
How Lady Bug came to MBTR:  Lady Bug was abandoned at a vet's clinic in
Laurel, MS.  They gave her shots and cleaned her up and were going to adopt her out
themselves according to one of their vet techs until she tested positive for heartworms.
So then the vet clinic decided that they would not invest the time and expense of
treating her heartworms and surrendered her to an Animal Shelter in Hattiesburg, MS
who in turn called us to see if we could help Lady Bug and we were very happy to take
this pretty little girl in.
Additional Information:  Lady Bug was extremely shy and almost catatonic
when she initially came to us.  It took her about two weeks to get out of this and is
now very playful and sassy when with her foster Mom but is still a bit shy around new
people.  So if you choose to adopt Lady Bug, be prepared to give her some time to get
used to you and make sure you have adequate time to spend with her.  She is very
sweet and has never offered to bite or growl at anyone even when she was obviously
terrified.

Lady Bug was probably used as a breeder dog and then dumped when they were
finished with her.  She is very cautious about people approaching her and you can tell
that she has no idea of what to expect of those who come to her crate, to leash her, or
to even take her outside to play.  However, once she is accustomed to you, she is very
loyal and so playful.  She's actually quite the little monkey and will keep you laughing
with all her silly little antics.

Lady Bug gets along with most dogs but will get hostile with other dominant females.
Males and submissive females will be quickly befriended.  It is not known how she
reacts to cats since there are none in her foster home.

This is a very pretty, type-y looking little Boston Terrier.  She weighs about 16 lbs. as
she is a bit pleasantly plump.  She has a smaller build to her though and is quite a bit
smaller than most of our other foster kids.  In her prior life, we think she must have
spent all her time outside.  She is not yet house trained so will need a new pet
parent/parents that are committed to showing her how to be a good house pup.  If you
don't have time, if you aren't totally committed, then please do not apply.  This little
gal is so cute and such a sweetheart that she deserves to stop being shuffled around
and her next stop be the last as she moves into her FOREVER home!

Lady Bug has received treatment for her heartworms and went through the recovery
program.  She will have been started on a monthly preventative at the time of
adoption.  Lady Bug is scheduled to be spayed on 7-14-10.  Ten days later (7-24-10),
she will be totally healed up and ready to go.  If you are interested in this lovely little
Boston, please fill out an adoption application and mention her name.  This sassy, silly
little monkey is ready for her very own home!
