Meet adorable little Sammie! This little black and white bundle of Boston joy is the
stuff that dreams are made of! She was recently liberated by West Memphis Animal
Services from a breeding facility and sent to MBTR. And she's a happy, happy girl
about that! She runs out each morning displaying lots of enthusiasm, jumping and
dancing around and wagging that little rear end. She loves to go out and play with
her friends and just have room to run and play. Although she came from a
commercial breeding facility and is supposed to be pure bred, she looks like she has
more Terrier in her than Bulldog so we will offer her as a Boston mix with an
adjusted adoption fee.
She very energetic but sweetly submissive and loves to spend time with her people.
Like most little pups in a breeding facility, she's a bit cautious when first meeting
people. She isn't really sure who's nice and who's not. But once she sees you aren't
going to hurt her, she's back to her happy little jumping and revelry. She has not
been trained to leash walk so her owner needs to be committed to that as well as
house training. She's sleeps in her crate at night but we only like to use crates as a
training aide and allow the dogs to have freedom of the home when they've learned
to potty outside. Spending lots of time in a crate is no life for any dog, especially an
impressionable youngster. We want her to go to a home where she will not be
crated for long hours....although some crating may be necessary for her house
training. She'd love it if she had a person that would give her lots of attention and
let her sleep on a doggie bed in the bedroom near them or either in the people bed
with them.
Sammie gets along just fine with older children but has not been around younger
ones. For the safety of both child and dog, we do not adopt to families with
children under the age of 5. There are no cats in Sammie's foster home so it is not
known how she gets along with them. But at this young age, she could probably be
taught to live peacefully with a polite, well mannered kitty.
Sammie is a good girl and does not take advantage of her keeper's kindness. That's
one of the wonderful things about a rescue dog. They know when they've had it bad
and they sincerely appreciate all that you do for them and they make wonderfully
loyal companions. This sweet girl would bring lots of love and fresh energy into her
forever home. If you have lots of patience for a puppy and a nurturing home to
share, then please fill out an ADOPTION APPLICATION and mention Lady!
