Age: 2 1/2 years
Gender: Male
Breed: Boston Terrier
Color: Black/White
Size: Large - Approx. 40 lbs.
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Crate Trained:  Yes
House Trained:  No
Medical Information: Healthy.  Heartworm negative and on a monthly preventative,
neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Special Notes: Upon intake exam, Titan tested positive for a rickettsial disease,
which is tick born.  He received a round of antibiotics and then two weeks later he
received a second round of antibiotics.  Titan is healthy and is just fine now but the
vet said that he would most likely always test positive for the antibodies which he
built up against the disease.  A dog can build up an immunity against such tick born
diseases simply if they live in an area where there is a high population of ticks.  A
result means that he has built up antibodies against the disease but does not have
the active disease.  Symptoms of the active disease are muscle wasting, dull coat,
decrease appetite, urine will look red or orange and in the most severe cases they
can become anemic.  Titan exhibited none of these symptoms but was treated
preemptively to prevent progression from a subclinical state to an actual active
infection.  He's 100% healthy now and loves to romp and play!
Interaction with Kids:  Not known
Interaction with Dogs: Good with females, non-aggressive males, and young dogs.
Interaction with Cats:  Not known.
Ideal Type of Home:  Home without dominant, bossy males or small children.

This boy looks just like a Boston but he is HUGE!  Aptly named "Titan" and
weighing in at 40 lbs.  If you like the striking good looks of a Boston Terrier but
you're not so crazy about little "foo-foo" lap dogs, then Titan is your guy!  He's the
best of both worlds!  He'd be a great buddy for a guy to hang out with or an
imposing "protector" for a lady to enjoy an evening walk with.  He looks tough but
shhhhh....don't tell anyone he's just a big ole baby!  Titan loves attention and
follows where ever you go.  Always comes when called.

Titan is crate trained and because he's so smart and eager to please,  he should be a
breeze to fully house train.  He may be big but as with all Boston Terriers, his short
coat makes him susceptible to cold weather and his short nose makes him extremely
sensitive to hot weather.  In the hot summer days as we are having now, dogs can
fatally overheat in a very short time and the short nosed dogs are at higher risk.  So
if you want to make Titan a part of your family, make sure you have a
home/apartment large enough to accommodate him.  HE IS NOT AN OUTSIDE
DOG!

Titan has never shown any type of aggression towards humans but we feel that a
home without small children would be best.  Titan enjoys running, playing, and
jumping and he could easily bowl over a toddler even though he meant no harm.
This big boy doesn't realize his own strength....he thinks he's still a pup :o)  Titan
gets along with most female dogs and youngsters.  As you can see in the photos, he
tolerates even small puppies jumping on and around him.  Titan also gets along
with non-aggressive males.  However, if you own a bossy, dominant male, then there
could be a "Clash with the Titan"....sorry we just couldn't resist.  Titan is not a
dominant dog nor does he feel he must be the "pack leader".  He gets along just
fine with my elderly male who is about the same size as Titan as well as my much
smaller male who has a Napoleon syndrome and my much smaller female who is the
undisputed queen.  He is quite happy to defer pack leader responsibilities to her and
is much more interested in belly rubs and treats.  But if challenged, he will protect
himself.

Titan can jump a 4 ft. chain link fence with the most minimal effort so a home with
a wooden privacy fence or a home that is committed to leash walking is a must.
Titan has been neutered, wormed, up-to-date on vaccinations and heartworm
negative.

This big boy is an absolute sweetheart and is brutally HANDSOME!!  The first thing
most people say when they see him is, "Wow, we've never seen a Boston that big.
He is gorgeous!!"  He is just as beautiful on the inside and he has a huge heart just
filled with love to offer some lucky person.  If you are interested in sharing your life
with this big ole teddy bear, please fill out an adoption application and mention his
name!
