Isn't that a face to die for? This cute little critter's name is "Ace" and he's
looking for his forever home. Ace has never been around younger children but
we think he'd actually enjoy having a smaller child to play with. He's very
gentle around all people and even a little shy at first. We think someone must
have hit him before as he will sometimes kind of duck his head down when you
approach as if he's preparing to be hit. We sure hope that never happened to
this sweet boy though! He's very affectionate to people and likes to play with
stuffed toys. He'll take them in his mouth and shake them and play tug-o-war
with you. He's never snapped at or bitten anyone and he doesn't even growl
when you are playing with toys with him. He's not food aggressive and will let
you take his food bowl up even while he's eating. He LOVES to eat so that
says a lot. He'll give you the most pitiful look but he won't growl or complain.
Ace is good around other dogs. He has been known to get into a few squabbles
with other dogs but only after being antagonized. But I think just about any
dog would defend himself if he had to. We have several other Bostons and he
gets along just fine with all of them whether they be young or old, male or
female. He pretty much just ignores the other dogs and does his own thing
when they are outside. He's more of a people dog than doggie dog.
Since he has a white face, people want to know if he's deaf. He is not. He will
prick his ears and look if you make a funny sound. Sometimes when he's
outside and investigating things, you'd swear he was deaf though. Like most
little Bostons, he sometimes "hears what he wants to hear". He'll not come to
you if he's sniffing around, investigating, and "marking" bushes. He doesn't
run away. He just doesn't want to come in when told to sometimes and just
ignores you and goes about his business and he must be picked him up or leash
walked back inside.
He is not house trained but is crate trained and behaves very well while in his
crate. His new family may wish to continue to use a crate until he is fully house
trained. Then perhaps he can enjoy free run of his home. It should not be a
difficult thing to house train Ace as he is very humble and willing to please.
Ace came to us from a shelter in GA. He had heartworms and could not be
adopted. He has been treated for the heartworms and he has finished the
treatment/recovery routine and now just takes a monthly preventative like any
other dog. We do work with "Pilots N Paws" and since he was in GA, they flew
him down for us. As a matter of fact, that's how he got his name....he was a
"flying Ace". If you go to the front page of our website and scroll down to the
Pilots N Paws banner and click on the link, it will take you to photos of dogs
who have flown to us. Ace's pic is on there with his pilot and plane.
If Ace sounds like the perfect guy for you, please fill out and adoption
application. Ace hopes his next landing can be in his new home!
ADOPTION FEE: $100.00
