Gator came to us as an owner surrender.  He's a big, playful boy and was a bit rough for
their kid and knocked him down
a few times while playing.  Gator is a big ole gooooood
lookin' Boston boy.  With a bit of a longer, stubby tail, bigger build, and those tall
straight ears, he really reminds us of a Boxer.....in stance and carriage at least.
Tuxedo
markings, size, and playfulness is all Boston!

Gator has been with us a couple of
months and has proved to be a great dog, he just
needs the right owner, attention and exercise.  He had once been an inside dog but his
previous owners were keeping him outside in the back yard.  We think that Gator just
wasn't getting the time, attention, and exercise that he needed.

He loves playing with his foster mom's 13 y/o nephew.  He likes to run, jump, and chase
toys.  Sometimes he has to be reminded that YOU are the toy boss and not Gator.  When
he gets them, sometimes he aims to keep them.  We think that he'd do well in a home
without small children or cats.  His foster family doesn't have cats but thinks that Gator
might think it quite a fun sport to chase kitties.  Older children would love to have a
friend like Gator to play with but
very small children might be accidentally bowled over
in his exuberance to play.

Gator is a dynamo
and playing is his favorite hobby and he'd love to have a family that
had time to get out and do things with him, interact with him, and spend time with him.
Since coming to MBTR, and getting plenty of exercise and having other dogs to play
with, Gator has really settled down
and he's one fine gentleman of a Boston and more
than ready snuggle up in his doggie bed or cozy up next to you on the couch in the
evenings for an after dinner movie and some popcorn.  He's not picky about the flick
either.
When he first came to us, he was a bit over energetic, but his previous owners
did admit that he spent a lot of time in the backyard alone.  He was just thrilled to have
someone give him some time and attention and that, has really mellowed this handsome
guy out.

Gator was being kept out in the back yard by his previous owners but the owners
before them had kept him inside.  He knows how to use the doggie door and can be
trusted to behave himself if home alone.  Gator would love to have a stay-at-home
parent or work-at-home parent.  But if you must work away from home in order to bring
home the kibble, Gator will understand
just as long as you have time to give him a little
TLC in the evenings
. If you want Gator to be your guy, plan on spending adequate time
tossing a ball, or taking a brisk walk around the block
after dinner.  He'd also be a fun
guy to include in your recreational trips camping, hiking, fishing, etc.
And he'd be a
great travel companion.  He enjoys car rides and settles right down in the back seat and
sits quietly looking out the window.  Sleep eventually over takes our boy on longer trips
and soon you'll hear him snoring away in true Boston fashion in the back seat.

His previous owners said that he could be a bit grumbly when asked to do something he
didn't want to.  However, we gently but firmly impressed upon Mr. Gator that he was
a
pack member in his foster home and the job of pack leader was already covered by mom
and dad.  He had no problems with the arrangement and all has been well. He gets
along well with people and other dogs.  He has several foster playmates and likes them
all, male or female, large or small.  Haven't seen any f
susing or fighting out of this young
man!
Gator is a big, strong boy and will be a bully if you let him.  He would probably be a
lot of dog for a first time pet owner and a dog savvy person would be the best fit for Mr.
Gator.

He's a larger, but Oh-so-good-lookin' Boston.  He's energetic but a bit of good, regular
exercise and interaction with his people keeps Mr. Gator on his best behavior.  He's a
strong fellow and can be a lot of dog for the first time dog owner.  He'd probably do
better with a person who has owned dogs previously and who is dedicated to seeing
that he gets the exercise and attention he requires to keep him happy, healthy, and
balanced.  Gator is not a set it and forget it kind of Boston....he's a full time hobby!
But
all good dog owners know that you can't sit a dog on shelf and take him down and play
with him every week or so.  They need daily love and interaction with their people.
Don't adopt a dog to let it languish in the back yard!!
 Gator is a wonderful get-out-there
and have fun with you kind of guy!  He'd be fun, fun, fun if you are an active
p
erson/family who likes to get out and about on the weekends and would like a buddy to
keep you company.

Although we do not always require a fenced yard in order to adopt, we'd really prefer
Gator's new home to have a safe, decent sized fenced yard.  He loves to run, jump,
chase toys and to do those things safely and daily would be much easier with a fenced
yard.  Gator behaves well inside the yard and has never tried to dig out or jump over a
fence.

If you are an out and about kind of person
/family and looking for just the right fellow to
share in your love of exercise, exploring, and adventure then Gator is anxiously
awaiting to make your acquaintance!
Gator would be a great playmate for older children
but those who pick, harass or otherwise have not been taught respect for animals need
